How the crew goes about tree removal
The price of a removal is driven by what is under the tree far more than by the tree itself. The same oak felled into open yard and dismantled in pieces over a roof are two very different jobs, and any quote given without seeing the site is a guess.
We will also tell you when a tree does not need removing. A tree with deadwood in the crown or one bad limb frequently needs pruning rather than removal, and that is a much smaller job and a better outcome.

FAQ
Tree Removal: the questions homeowners raise
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Nashville?
On a private residential lot, usually not, unless the tree is in a protected zone, a historic overlay, or the lot is subject to a tree-preservation condition from when it was developed. Commercial property and some newer subdivisions are different. We check before we cut, because a tree removed without a required permit is a fine and a replanting order.
How is a tree removed when there is no room to fell it?
In pieces, from the top down. A climber or a bucket truck takes the canopy off limb by limb, each piece rigged on ropes and lowered rather than dropped, until the trunk is short enough to fell or is cut into rounds. It is slower than felling and it is how a tree between a house and a fence comes down without touching either.
